10 years old. The big 1-0. Your little one is getting bigger every day. This is one of the biggest and most exciting milestones in a child’s life. They can hardly contain themselves in showing just how excited they are for their upcoming special day. Which, unfortunately, means for you the pressure is ON to provide them with an amazing experience. I’m here to help you provide your 10-year-old with a birthday party they will never forget. How? With the coolest birthday ideas around.
It’s not incredibly hard to come up with “fun” birthday ideas, especially for your 10-year-old. In this sensory-overloaded society of ours, kids today have access to a whirlwind of entertainment at the tip of their fingers. Kids today are easily satisfied with cake and ice cream and a gathering of their best friends. As a parent, however, it’s your job to provide them with an experience that is not just fun but out of this world! In order to do that, you have to find the newest and most unique birthday ideas around.
Special 10th Birthday Ideas
10. HamsterBall Birthday Party
By now, you’ve probably seen Hamsterballs everywhere. They’re on TV, they’re in your local park. You’d think maybe we’ve been invaded by some giant alien hamster species. Remind me to write that down, that sounds like a great movie idea. No, sadly, there are no giant hamsters to speak of; just your child and their birthday guests having the best time of their lives, because you’re such an awesome parent and got them hamsterballs for their 10th birthday. Go you! Hamsterballs give your child a safe and unique experience with a giant inflatable obstacle course to run relay races and provide continuous and bouncy fun.
9. Indoor Skydiving Birthday Party
Look, I don’t know about you but I don’t plan on jumping out of a plane anytime soon. Strike that, I don’t plan on jumping out of a plan...period. In fact, I’d be willing to wager if you were to ask your 10-year-old they’d say the same exact thing. Oh! They didn’t! Well, kudos to them. However, I’m surewe can all agree hurling your child out of a plane isn’t ideal right? Right, didn’t think so. Well, luckily I have a compromise: Indoor skydiving. I know the name sounds like an oxymoron, but with companies like Sky Zone offering new indoor skydiving experience using powerful air jets and special suits that keep you suspended, the fantasy has become a reality! There will be no need for parachutes on this flight.
8. Gaga Ball Pit Birthday Party
The time for overwhelming fun is here. Gaga Foam Pits offer the fun of the original Gaga Pit you already know and love with a wet and wild twist! Add a foam machine to the mix and the game kicks into a new level of entertainment. Don’t have a foam machine, no worries! Most Gaga Pit rental companies offer an easy gaga upgrade where parties can be hosted at their dedicated and decked out facility OR brought right to your backyard. Easy as pie!
7. Lawn Games & Giant Field Day Birthday Party
If there’s one thing your child can never get enough of, it’s fresh air. In today’s screen-obsessed world, however, that can be quite a challenge. Now, with the market for at-home neighbor games at an all-time high (you know, cause we’re all always at home) you can find amazing lawn and field games for your child’s upcoming 10th birthday. With games such as Giant Checkers, Corn Hole, Spike Ball, Kan Jam, Giant Jenga, and Real Life Angry Birds the fun never ends. Feeling a little stressed with COVID? Many companies offering these fun lawn games offer 100% contactless drop-off and pick-up so you can be sure your child and his birthday guests are playing in a safe environment monitored by you.
6. Gaming Truck Birthday Party
Skip the trouble of tangled cords and a messy living room to clean up by ordering a Game Truck. The fun comes to you in a decked out truck equipped with all the latest gaming consoles and high-definition 4K TV’s. Fortnite, Minecraft, Madden, you name it, they’ve got it! I’ll be honest, I find myself increasingly jealous of the kids these days. What I wouldn’t give to have had a party this radical growing up. Now you can offer your child this amazing experience. Of course, with COVID-19 still looming, these trucks go through extensive cleaning and sanitation processes between each and every party they offer. Rest easy, the kids are alright.
5. Arrow Tag Birthday Party
Let’s say you’ve got yourself a little Katniss Everdeen running around. Or maybe, you even have a Hawkeye on your hands. Boy, do I have the game for you. Treat your special one to an Arrow Tag birthday party. This game is essentially dodgeball but with foam-tipped arrows. Players, wearing goggles for safety, try to get other players “out” by shooting or catching the arrows. Be warned, however, this game is addictingly fun! You may find you, and a few other parents might just want to jump in. Don’t worry - I don’t blame you!
4. Bubble Soccer Birthday Party
Bubble Soccer is one of those genuinely ingenious birthday party ideas that only come around once in a while. Whoever thought of this incredible game deserves a medal. Players wear giant bubbleballs and run around trying to kick a regular (or extra large and inflatable) soccer ball into the opposing team’s goal. It’s Soccer with an incredibly unique twist. Players wobble and they WILL fall down in this ever-versatile game. The fun thing about bubbleballs is that they can be used to play other inventive games like Bubble Football, and Sharks and Minnows. Bubbleballs can be delivered to your home or a nearby park, or you can check out the many fun facilities offering Bubble Soccer near you.
